More T-shirts from the photo shoot i did….i love the grey one out of them all…my model Eugene was amazing he really knew how to work my t-shirts to get them to the best effect……..
My website i am working on hope everyone likes it…..http://cargocollective.com/Megan_fashion
I went to the Cavern Club in Liverpool because i wanted to photograph live bands or musicians for my work, this fella was on stage he was singing and playing guitar mostly Oasis songs an beetles songs…he was really good!!! I set my camera on a slow shutter speed and snapped away, the images that came out of this where fab and easily transferable onto a t-shirt to create a design. This image above I have manipulated on photoshop and intend to photograph and print onto a t-shirt and use as a final piece……..
Whilst doing my project i looked into many artists….my fav Andy Warhol…. i love the bright colours in his work, the repetitive printing. When looking into t-shirt design i feel that this was possibly a good thing to look at. 1 - it would look visually pleasing and 2 - its not hard to do!!!!! (with out being modest)….. ALTHOUGH my take might not be as andy warhol because no one can be as good as the man himself…..
The one thing i liked about this project is the use of colour and layering of the images - how duplicating one image can make another images interesting. The images above is of a boy i “captured” walking down the street, he reminded me of a boy who would play guitar for a group, his long hair and leather jacket look combined made him intriguing.
We had a designer come into our Uni for a talk and he spoke to us individually about our creating and themes and outcomes that we hope to do within out final projects. when he came to my at first i did not like him, he said to me “what about copywriting, what if people see their faces on your T-shirts and want a percentage of the money you intend to sell them for” - i was not happy all this work that had been praised was now being criticized….yet something clicked and i now thank him for that - what if i removed the eyes and facial features of the images so they become unrecognisable???? it keeps within the theme moods and expressions but without the expression it makes people wonder what the people faces are actually doing????……….
